New parking lot development at the southernmost crossing of Hwy 7. Once the ground work has been done we will install a kiosk, signage and restroom facilities.
Trail Conditions and Alerts: July 19 - No alerts or warnings. Come ride the B&B!
Trail Conditions: The B&B Connection trail is in very good riding condition. You will be able to view the effects of recent storms as you ride the trail. We continue to improve the trail by fixing minor washouts and removing more damaged trees. When you see our dedicated volunteers working, stop by to say hello!
NEW PARKING LOT: As shown in the photo above, we are developing a new parking lot at the southernmost crossing of Hwy 7 on the west side of the road. It will be located between B&B trail mile markers 5 and 6. This large parking area will be open for use as soon as we place the gravel surface over the sand. Other facilities will include a new Kiosk with a large trail map, map handouts, as well as other information about the trail and the local area. There will be more signage to help you navigate to local points of interest, as well as food and fuel stops. Future development will include a trail toilet and overflow parking.

Special notes: Wilderness Wheelers hopes to begin developing the Wilderness Trail later this summer. The next steps: The Wilderness Trail has been approved by the MNDNR regional team and have forwarded their approval to OHV staff of MNDNR in St. Paul who oversee the OHV program. They will review the project to be sure all the steps needed to be awarded Grant-in-Aid status have been properly prepared. When the review has been satisfied Grant-in-Aid status can be granted and we can begin work on the trail. One major component will be seeking funding to supplement the GIA funding we be awarded.
Because this is such a large project we are planning a two phase build of the trail occurring over a two year period. The tail will connect with the B&B trail and head west. Connections to the Timberwolf Inn, Marcell, Talmoon, and Riley's Junction will make this a popular trail. It will be a loop trail falling completely on the Chippewa National Forest. Please consider joining our club and/or donating time and funds to help support the development of this new trail system. The more support we get the faster this project can happen!
Reminder: While riding on township and county roads the law requires us to stay to the right hand side of the roadway while using these corridors and obey all other traffic regulations. On paved county roads please stay as far right as is safely possible. We also ask you to avoid ditch riding as we have to fix any damage caused by ATV use along our Bigfork to Balsam Trail corridor. Stay The Trail!
Please check back regularly for current riding conditions throughout the riding season. Updated: 7/19/22
